Jon Bentley

Jon’s latest oil paintings are collectively called “Anthroposcenes”. They are a response to the new geological epoch that many scientists argue we have entered. Termed the Anthropocene it is characterised by enormous environmental changes to the Earth as the direct result of human activity. The trees equate with the natural environment and the wallpaper is emblematic of the human proclivity for pattern. Quite literal really.
